Try this easier version of the Italian Tubular Cast on. No twisted cast on! Easier, neater first row! This is our new favorite way to cast on for one by one ribbing on hats, socks, mittens, and especially necklines. You’ll learn to speed swatch in the round as a bonus skill.

Techniques You'll Learn

  • Provisional tubular cast on

  • Speed swatching in the round

Prerequisites

  • Basic cast on technique

  • Knit

  • Purl

This is NOT an absolute beginner class. Please be aware that class time will not be spent on reteaching the aforementioned prerequisites.

No Homework

Supplies to Bring

  • Smooth worsted weight wool or wool blend yarn

  • Both US 4 and US 7 or 8 circular needles, 16” or 24” (even longer is fine, but they must be circular).

She’s taught hundreds of students to knit garments and accessories, to fix knitting mistakes, and to finish garments beautifully. Beginning in June 2020, she taught over 90 online knitting seminars, providing knitting expertise to students nationwide.
