Ready to take your knitting to the next level? The Sophie Scarf by PetiteKnit is one of the most-loved next-step patterns on Ravelry — over 52,000 projects and counting — and for good reason. It's elegant, achievable, and teaches two of the most useful techniques you'll reach for again and again: garter stitch shaping and a built-in i-cord edge. In this two-session workshop, we'll work through the pattern together, tip to tip, in a small group setting. You'll learn how to read a pattern, work a built-in i-cord edge, shape with increases and decreases, and choose a luxury fiber that makes the finished scarf feel as beautiful as it looks.

The Sophie Scarf is worked flat in DK-weight yarn on US 4 needles and the small size uses fewer than 140 yards. You'll finish the workshop with a scarf you'll actually wear.

Pre-requisites:

  • One Cast On method
  • Knit stitch
  • Basic Bind Off
  • Ability to identify knits & purls in your work

This is NOT an absolute beginner class. Please be aware that class time will not be spent on reteaching the aforementioned prerequisites.

Hi, I'm so excited to teach you about the magic of knitting and crochet! I have been knitting for 7 years and crocheting for 4, all self-taught from youtube videos. Knitting has always been a way for me to relax and take time away from screens. I love making wearables - sweaters, tees, and socks, oh my! But I've also made stuffed animals, blankets and plenty of gifts for friends and family. I'm always learning new techniques and cannot wait for you to join me!
