Crochet the Waylen Bag

Class Schedule: Saturday, October 11 & Sunday, October 12 from 10 AM – 12 PM.

This class is two sessions long. Please ensure you are available for each session before booking your spot. See cancellation policy below. 

My most favorite projects are those that look complicated but are so much easier than they look. The Waylen Bag is the perfect example! This stunning, highly textured bag sports a simple repeat that even adventurous beginners can make. Trust me, if you know that basics, you can make this bag! You choose if you’d like to make the notions bag, the project bag or both!

Techniques You'll Learn

• The gorgeous textured stitch that makes up the body of the bag
• A special technique for a gorgeous, exposed seam at the bottom of the bag
• How to work stitches into the top of the bag to avoid gaps
• Attaching the premade bag to the crocheted bag

Prerequisites

• Chain
• Slip stitches
• Single crochet
• Double crochet
• You will also want to be comfortable reading stitches.

This is NOT an absolute beginner class. Please be aware that class time will not be spent on reteaching the aforementioned prerequisites.

• 5 ½”x 8” premade canvas zipper bag
• Aileen’s Quick Dry Fabric Fusion

Supplies to Bring

• Yarn - any worsted weight (level 4) yarn in 3 colors. Approx. 65 yds MC, 40 yds CC 1, 40 yds CC 2 for the notions bag.
• Hook – US I-9 (5.5mm) Bringing a couple hooks to be able to adjust for gauge is recommended.
• Tapestry needle, scissors

Supplies purchased at Yarncom for this class will receive a 10% discount. *some exclusions apply

Class Minimum: 6 Students

Class Maximum: 12 Students

If class minimum is not met by 48 hours before class start, class will be cancelled. Registrants will be contacted via phone and/or email, and refunded the full class fee to their original form of payment.

Class Policy

The schedule presented is the available time for the instructor. If you are unable to attend a class session, a 1:1 lesson can be scheduled at an additional cost.

Yarncom must be notified a minimum of 48 hours before the first session begins if you will not be attending. Refunds will not be available for cancellations within 48 hours of the first session.

Credit card refunds for cancellations are available with a $15 administration fee.

Store credit refunds for cancellations are available at no additional fee. The credit will be added to your customer profile.

You may reschedule your class up to 48 hours before the first session if the class is offered at another time.
