My most favorite projects are those that look complicated but are so much easier than they look. The Waylen Bag is the perfect example! This stunning, highly textured bag sports a simple repeat that even adventurous beginners can make. Trust me, if you know that basics, you can make this bag! You choose if you’d like to make the notions bag, the project bag or both!
Techniques You'll Learn
- The gorgeous textured stitch that makes up the body of the bag
- A special technique for a gorgeous, exposed seam at the bottom of the bag
- How to work stitches into the top of the bag to avoid gaps
- Attaching the premade bag to the crocheted bag
Prerequisites
- Chain
- Slip stitches
- Single crochet
- Double crochet
- You will also want to be comfortable reading stitches.
This is NOT an absolute beginner class. Please be aware that class time will not be spent on reteaching the aforementioned prerequisites.

Hi, I'm Sarah Korth!
My username is SEKHandmade and my website is sekhandmade.com
I teach knittings & crocheters new techniques through modern designs made accessible to all crafters through photo and video tutorials!
Growing up I always knew I wanted to be two things…a teacher and a mom! I pursued my dream of teaching in college and after graduating taught elementary school music for eight wonderful years! Once I became a mom in 2011 I knew that my heart was with my little guy and I wouldn’t go back to teaching. Thankfully, though I don’t think she ever meant to be an example for me, I have to most wonderful mother who showed me growing up that a woman can be an amazing mom and own her own creative business!
My sometimes hobby has become my passion and business! I love fiber craft and enjoy sharing the wonderful community with so many talented and kind makers!
